Launch A New After School Program in Sunset Park!
May 16, 2013We’re raising funds to start I.S. 136 Music Club, an after school music and mentoring program for girls at a public middle school in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Right now we are participating in the Raise for Women Challenge on Crowdrise for this program. The contest, which ends June 6, gives donors the chance to win weekly prizes like a personal voicemail by actress America Ferrera, and gives Willie Mae the chance to win matching funds. Give today!
WMRC Seeks Tech Consultant
April 26, 2013Thanks to a generous grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council/JPMorgan Chase Regrant Program, Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is getting a much-needed technology upgrade! WMRC is currently seeking a qualified IT/technology consultant to design and implement technology improvements to its basic computer operations. Expressions of interest are due May 31. The organization strongly encourages submission of proposals by individuals who identify as queer, trans*, gender non-conforming, female, and/or as people of color. More information HERE.
